A life-changing visit to Mozambique
I was honored to be chosen to visit Mozambique with CARE in August to learn more about combating global hunger and malnutrition. While I was there, I visited Omuive Island off of the coast of Angoche to see how community members are applying the use of sustainable fishing practices to prevent overfishing and to improve food and nutrition security in their community.
Hunger and malnutrition remain the number one risk to global health, killing more people than AIDS, malaria and tuberculosis combined. Globally, more than 795 million people don’t have enough food to eat and nearly 2 billion people are malnourished. Please watch the video to see the incredible sights and sounds of Omuive Island and the incredible people I met who live there and are working to feed their families and neighbors.
